Our History
The roots of Christ the King High School go back to 1933, when the Antigua Convent School of Christ the King was established under the leadership of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, led by Sr. John Mary. At that time, the school was co-educational, serving students from kindergarten to school-leaving certificate level.
In 1958, the Christian Brothers established St. Joseph’s Academy, and the boys of the upper classes transferred there. The Convent School then continued as a co-educational institution up to grade 5, and an all-girls school from Forms 1 to 5.
By 1963, the school relocated to its permanent home on Old Parham Road and was renamed Christ the King High School. For many years, the school was administered by the I.C.M. Sisters, with Sr. Claina Letang serving as the last I.C.M. principal during the 1988–1989 academic year.
In 1989, leadership transitioned to its first lay principal, Mrs. Theodora Commodore, who guided the school with distinction until 2015. She was succeeded by Mrs. Patricia Collins, and since 2018, the school has been under the leadership of Mrs. Halima Zachariah, continuing the tradition of excellence and faith.

Christ the King High School is dedicated to nurturing excellence, character, and faith. For over 90 years, we have empowered young women to grow into confident leaders who serve their communities with purpose.
